Grant awards totaling $1,150 were given this February. The grant recipients are Iron Springs Elementary, Off the Cuff, Todd Prince, Color Country Winds, and Melissa Sullivan of Blue Moon Studio.
Iron Springs Elementary will be observing Youth Art Month with various art projects including an exhibit modeled after i Madonnari Festival chalk art activities. Students, teachers and parents will benefit through this highly expressive and colorful art project this spring.
Off the Cuff provides intelligent and imaginative entertainment through the art of exceptional improvisational comedy. Off the Cuff will be presenting the first Red Rock Improv Festival, as well as continuing their Friday Night shows here in Cedar City.
Todd Prince is a local artist working with gourd art and crafts, and he will be featured in a two-day gourd and craft workshop at the Frontier Homestead Museum.
Color Country Winds is now in its seventh year performing throughout the local area. New music for the community bands will be further enhancing this wonderful musical group’s influence in both education and musical awareness.
Melissa Sullivan’s Blue Moon Studio features Stained Glass windows and 3-Dimensional Italian Glass Mosaics. Melissa will be working on a glass sculptural project highlighted by vivid colors and textures. Her art work as well as many other local area artists will be featured at the Artisans’ Gallery on Center Street in Cedar City.
