He graduated from Bear River High School in 1956. From there he went on to serve in the National Guard for six years.
He married Zola Mae Richardson on Aug. 1, 1969 in the St. George Temple. Together they had three children, James Douglas Jr. of Enoch, Utah, William Henry of California, and Mary Elizabeth (Ross) Hedges of Cedar City, Utah. James and Zola were married for 24 years and later divorced.
Jim then moved to Hurricane and married Teresa Campbell, and then moved to Salt Lake City, where he passed away.
Jim worked as a foreman for U & I Sugar Factory in Garland, Utah for 18 years and also at the Cedar City Cemetery.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as an Elder, a home teacher, and loved working with the boy scouts and in the primary.
Jim enjoyed going camping and fishing with his family. At Thanksgiving time and Easter they would travel up to Tremonton to see the family. He loved playing Santa Claus for the little kids.
Jim is survived by his wife, Teresa; his three children, James Douglas Jr., William Henry, and Mary Elizabeth; three grandchildren, Colton, Nicole, and Tristan; his sisters Viola Ray Paul of Ogden, Utah, Faye Price, Nola Hale of Tremonton, Utah, and Sandy (Rowlin) Anderson of Bear River City, Utah.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Josephine Whitaker, and two brothers, Ben Price and Gary Price.
A service was Saturday, May 15 in the Enoch Stake Center, 3600 N. Minersville Highway, in Enoch, Utah. Viewings were Friday, May 14 at Southern Utah Mortuary in Cedar City and Saturday, May 15 at the stake center before the service. Interment was in the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Online condolences can be sent at www.southernutahmortuary.com.
