Evon enjoyed a happy childhood surrounded by the adoration of her three older siblings and cousins. She maintained a close relationship with her mother and father who taught her a love for her Savior, Jesus Christ. This love, along with her love for family and friends, helped Evon endure many challenges.
Evon felt a great loyalty to Cedar City and took pride in knowing it was first settled by her grandparents. She obtained all her education there, including secretarial training at Branch Agricultural College (now SUU).
She relished the years working for the U.S. Recruiting Service and Southwestern Distributing Company. Her favorite position was Deputy County Assessor.
Evon married James Bosanko in 1958. The couple resided in California and Nevada. Evon adored children and was thrilled when her first child, James (Jim) Bosanko was born. She suffered a devastating loss when twin sons, Richard and Robyn and another son Robert, died shortly after birth. She was later blessed with son Tom Bosanko, and daughter Kelli Bosanko Khoury.
When Evon and James divorced, Evon returned to Cedar City. She became a teacher’s aide and loved her associations with children and teachers. She was saddened when health problems required her to leave this position.
For most of her life, Evon suffered with rheumatoid arthritis. Although the disease affected her mobility, she cherished relationships with many in the medical community. She had compassionate friends and ward members who sought ways to ease her physical burdens. She was grateful for her nephew, Lee Sherratt, who attended to her needs for many years.
Evon was a member of the LDS church.
She is survived by her children; James (Jim) Bosanko, Tom Bosanko and Kelli Bosanko Khoury; and nephews and nieces, Lee Gurr Sherratt, Ann Sherratt Frehner, Bob Hahne, Louis Hahne, Lory Misel, John Misel and Jean Misel Lamoreaux.
She was preceded in death by children Robert, Robyn and Richard Bosanko; parents Ethel King Sherratt and Robert Burns Sherratt; and siblings Marian Sherratt Hahne, Verda Sherratt Misel and Burns King Sherratt.
