The free concert will be at 7 p.m. at the Main Street Park Gazebo. There will be concerts in Bryce Canyon at the Ruby’s Inn Amphitheatre Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 8 p.m. at the O.C. Tanner Amphitheatre in St. George.
The 23rd Army Band has a rich and wonderful history as an internationally renowned military band of the highest caliber.
Organized in 1924 to provide music for military ceremonies, the 23rd has grown to now include more than eight ensembles including the internationally notorious “Article 15” Rock Band that has wowed audiences around the globe.
The 23rd Army Band consists of high caliber musicians. These citizen soldiers also work as lawyers, accountants, teachers, law enforcement officers, studio musicians, record producers, doctors, and scientists.
Each member of the band is also first and foremost a U.S. soldier, fully trained to defend this nation and the state.
The band recently returned from an overseas tour in the country of Morocco. A member of the State Partnership program, Morocco and Utah has shared a rich and rewarding exchange over the last decade. The Army Band was honored to perform a series of concerts during the Independence Day holiday.
